Rev. Wendell Fisher

Lead Pastor

MA, MDiv, BCC, has served in both the church and mental health arenas and brings to this community more than 30 years of ministry experience.  Prior to his post at Lighthouse, Wendell was the Minister to Single Adults at University Baptist Church of Coral Gables.  His experience also includes: Pastor of Wadsworth Ave. Baptist Church, NYC; Youth Director for Manhattan Bible Church and “Youth Alive,” an at-risk youth program in Manhattan; Counselor, Phoenix House, Inc., Pastoral Counselor for Volunteers of America working in an AIDS housing program in South Bronx, NY, and a Counselor, Community, & Program Specialist for homeless vets, families, & individuals with severe mental illness and drug/alcohol issues. In 2009, He was elected and served 5 yrs. on the Homeless Trust Board of Miami-Dade County. He now works as a nationally Board Certified Chaplain with Baptist Health South Florida. Wendell will be careful to tell you that the greatest joy of his life, next to following our Savior, is to love his beautiful wife Dora and to spend time with his two sons Daniel and Zachariah.  Annually, Lighthouse Church utilizes the expertise of a Leadership Team of volunteers, who serve as deacons of the Church.  Their wisdom and invaluable service have greatly enhanced the quality of services offered by the church.
